Frequently Asked Questions

1. Do I really need a permit for electrical work?

For anything beyond a like-for-like device swap, yes. A permit means an inspector checks the work, and it is what your insurer and a future buyer will look for.

2. How do I know if my panel needs replacing?

Federal Pacific, Zinsco, or Challenger on the label, breakers that trip for no reason, warmth or a burnt smell at the cover, or no room for what you want to add. Any of those is worth a look.

3. Where do you work?

We are based in Coral Springs and serve all of Broward and Palm Beach County. See the full list of cities.

4. How soon can you come out?

If something is smoking, warm to the touch, or smells burnt, shut off that breaker and call us right away.

Repair or Replace Your Electrical Panel?

Not every panel problem means a new panel. Weigh the age of the equipment, what you plan to add, and what your insurer is asking for.

Breaker or Component Repair

PROs:

  • Cost-effective for a single failed breaker or loose connection
  • Usually done in a single visit
  • Keeps a sound, modern panel in service

CONs:

  • Does not fix a panel that is obsolete or undersized
  • Not an option for Federal Pacific, Zinsco, or Challenger equipment
  • Will not satisfy an insurer who has asked for a replacement

Full Panel Replacement

PROs:

  • Resets the whole service to current code, with surge protection and proper grounding
  • Capacity for an EV charger, pool heater, or addition
  • Documented, permitted, and accepted by insurers and inspectors

CONs:

  • Power is off for most of a working day
  • A larger investment than a single repair

Our Reviews

★★★★★

"I was expecting a complete rewiring, but this was not the case."

Exterior lights had gone dark during a renovation and another contractor could not find the fault. Mark traced it to the switch wiring and had them back on the same visit.
